George W. Dossett, 80, died at his home, 710 south Washington street, at noon Sunday, of the infirmities of old age. He had been seriously ill since October 17 and had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Dossett had resided in this community for 60 years. Until six years ago, he had farmed most of his life. He was born at LaFollette, Tenn., June 20, 1860, a son of William A. and Mary J. Dossett. He married Mary Jane Erskine, September 18, 1882. He was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are two sons, Charles Dossett of Anderson, and Luther Dossett, this city, and four daughters, Mrs. A.C. Underwood, Mrs. W.O. Mitsch and Mrs. Paul Dice, all of this city, and Mrs. C.C. Aubion of Houston, Texas. A son, David Dossett, died October 10. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Proffitt and Sons funeral home. Burial will be made at the Pisgah cemetery east of Mace.
